“I have always been very lucky in my career to have been able to play good quality instruments most of which have been made outside of the UK! I have to say though that, without a doubt, Olivewood guitars are amongst the best acoustic guitars I have ever played.

The guitars have a smaller body to most acoustics out there and are very light indeed, but this takes nothing away from their huge sound! The tone is rich without being boomy’ and it is clear on the top end without being too edgy or too ‘tinny’.

Without even plugging it into an amp or a PA system, its sound is one of the cleanest and richest sounds I have ever heard from an acoustic guitar. Also, when it is plugged in to an amplified system, you lose nothing at all of the quality of the tone - it just sounds even bigger (and that’s with a flat EQ). Malcolm uses the best quality acoustic pick ups, so there are no bad hums or buzzes to be heard on stage. The intonation of the fret board is spot on (even when using a capo) and, once in tune, they stay there!

Finally, the guitars look wonderful! They are hand built with the love and care all instruments should be built with and are beautifully finished. Above all, they are unique!” Sarah Jory
